NBA: A Realignment Plan That Easily Restores Competitive Balance

When Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut was asked what he thought about the Los Angeles Lakers getting Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the offseason he said “the rich get richer.”

That’s how it is in the NBA nowadays. The large market teams are snatching up all the superstars while the small market teams get to develop young talent before they shuffle off to play in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles.

Am I whining? A little bit. I liked it better when lots of teams had at least one superstar and the league was wide open. Times have changed though. The CBA favors franchises with big pockets and today’s superstar doesn’t want to be a big fish in a small pond. They want to be a big fish in a big pond with several other big fishes around to improve their chances of winning of title.

The 2012-2013 NBA season is upon us and there are going to be some unforgettable games this year. The Celtics and the Heat rematch will be one of the hottest for example. And don't miss memorable Boston Celtics match ups like the Celtics Nets and Celtics L.A. Lakers. Of course the Miami Heat have a tough schedule this year and LeBron James, Dwayne Wade AND Ray Allen have their work cut out for them. And you've got to check out the new Brooklyn Nets in their new diggs the Barclays Center when the Nets play their inner-city rivals the Knicks or Nets vs. the Bulls. The NCAA college basketball season should be just as exciting as the NBA. Teams such as BC, Georgetown, Duke and Villanova will all be playing their hearts out. Going to a NCAA college basketball game is a wild experience. Online you can get BC Harvard tickets for their Chestnut Hill game or BC North Carolina tickets.
