Although the Celtics have been struggling over the last handful of years, it is not easy to forget what a dominant dynasty they had in the recent past. With Larry Bird, Parish, Ainge, DJ, McHale, thekir dream team bested their archy rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers many times in extremely memorable and exciting regular season and playoff games.
Now the Celtics are poised to become a strong and competitive franchise once again with their off-season acquisition of Kevin Garnett. Apul Pierce and Garnett are expected to make the C's contenders this '07-'08 basketball season. Expect the hottest items aoround this winter to be Boston Celtics tickets.
On July 31st, the Celtics traded for 10-time All-Star and 2004 league MVP Kevin Garnett in the single largest trade for one player in NBA history. He was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, Boston's 2009 first-round draft pick (top three protected) and the return of Minnesota's conditional first-round draft pick previously obtained in the 2006 Ricky Davis-Wally Szczerbiak trade. By adding Garnett to All-Stars Paul Pierce and Ray Allen it is widely believed that the trade will bring a new era of relevancy to the long struggling franchise.
