The Benefits and Advantages of A Double Stroller
If you're the parent of one or more children you are very familiar with the scene. You have been shopping; trying to make a purchase, and suddenly your youngest child needs some attention. As you attempt to soothe him, your oldest decides that this would be an outstanding opportunity to pretend they are Dora the Explorer and crawl through the clothes racks and supply shelves. Or maybe you're at a fair or other celebration that means that you'll be spending long periods of time on your feet. Although you have made preparations for your little one to be comfortable, either through the use of a stroller or a baby carrier, you are not prepared for when you older child thinks that they've had enough and sits down in protest until you have to either end your day early and go home or carry them.
Regardless of what scenario you happen to find yourself in, if you have multiple children, finding yourself a double stroller is a purchase you won't ever regret. A good double stroller gives your youngest child the safe and comfortable accommodations they'd have if they were traveling in a regular stroller and at the same time allowing your older child to ride comfortably when they feel tired of walking. A double stroller allows you to do this without simultaneously battling two strollers (a lot of us have attempted to make it work--it's an exercise that is almost certain to be a failure). Furthermore, if you have two quite young children this will help to reduce some of the rivalry that the older sibling may feel if they think they're being forced to keep walking, and the baby is permitted to ride in a stroller or be held in a sling.
When double strollers were first made available, they had a bad reputation. They were awkward, heavy, large, hard to steer and usually hard to travel with. Luckily, the new models are designed with safety and comfort in mind. Double strollers of today are much more light than earlier versions, and you can purchase them in different sizes and colors. This will mean that if you would like a jogging stroller or an umbrella stroller rather than a full sized model, you can have one without having to deal with which of your children will get to enjoy being a passenger. You can also buy a double stroller that is designed as a single stroller but has got a step on the back for your elder child, making it simpler to transport without having to give up convenience.
There are a lot of companies who manufacture double strollers, meaning you can get one from most major baby retail stores. So, this means if you live close to a Burlington Coat Factory (as ironic as it may seem, you can find almost anything in their Baby Depot), a Mervyn's, or a J.C. Penney, you will be able to find one from them. However, why waste time and gas driving to a store when you can shop with ease in the comfort of your home by using the internet? Your new stroller can be shipped directly to your front door. Regardless, you shouldn't have very much trouble getting a double stroller to accommodate your family's needs and budget.
